New at Avanto: a discussion panel to elaborate on the main themes of the festival. This year the programme puts the spotlight on the relationship between artists and society, and on the relationship between radical artistic forms and radical political ideas. Participants will include Alec Empire, Malcolm Le Grice, Minna Långström, Mattin, and the American virtuoso of situationist political satire Mark Boswell, whose films will be featured in the Film Without Film and Avantoscope screenings. The panel is organized by the visual artist Anu Pennanen and the media artist Juha Huuskonen in cooperation with Avanto and the Helsinki Academy Of Fine Arts.
